Using enzyme linked immuno-sorbant assay (ELISA) procedures Leatherhead Food Research can test for the following allergens:
Peanut
Hazelnut
Almond
Gluten (gliadin)
Casein
Egg
Soya
Histamine
β-Lactoglobulin
Sesame
Lupin
We have UKAS accreditation for our ELISA allergen assays. Please visit www.ukas.org.uk to view our accreditation.
These tests can be performed in a variety of food matrices. In addition, we can also analyse allergen levels in swabs (e.g. to check for contamination of production lines). Limits of detection have been established for all assays and quantitative results are normally reported.
We also offer assays for lactose and sulphur dioxide.
Using DNA based assays (PCR) we offer assays for a nine nut screen (comprising Almond, Brazil, Cashew, Hazelnut, Macademia, Peanut, Pecan, Pistachio and Walnut) and for other allergens including celery, mustard and fish.
Meat Specification
Using ELISA procedures we can test either raw or cooked meat samples for beef, sheep, pork and poultry.
