Droplet and Particle Size
Particle or droplet size measurements of powders, emulsions, dispersions and suspensions can be measured using a Malvern Laser Light Diffraction Mastersizer Unit. Such measurements are usually accompanied by microscopical analysis for further verification.
Examples include measurements of:
- Oil droplets - critical to the stability and functionality of liquid emulsions (e.g. creams, mousses and milk products)
- Chocolate particles - crucial for sensory perception, in particular the mouthfeel and the melt-down attributes
- Particle size distributions of starch and flour powders - important for the pasting and rheological properties
