Many sectors in the food and drink industry work seven days a week, and potential challenges can arise at any time day or night.
Leatherhead Food Research's Crisis Management Service helps food and drinks companies deal with problems promptly and effectively.
Included within Membership of Leatherhead Food Research, the Crisis Management Service provides year round 24 / 7 access to Leatherhead's extensive experience in crisis management
The service provides advice and guidance to help companies:
Troubleshoot contamination or adulteration
Address consumer complaints
Manage fraudulent and habitual complainers
Determine appropriate analytical approaches
The Crisis Management Service offers initial consultancy to Members via a telephone hotline. In additional to technical matters, Leatherhead's Crisis Management team can advise on product recalls, check your recall notices, advise on media contacts and consumer groups, and tell you which authorities in the relevant countries may need to be notified.
Members can access the Crisis Management Contacts List here
Outside normal working hours and at weekends, for EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE ONLY, Members can call the CRISIS LINE on +44 (0) 778 474855 This will normally be answered immediately but it is a mobile phone with a voice mail answering service.
Analysis
In addition to the hotline service, many of the problems faced by customers require some form of analysis, often to deal with problems of adulteration or contamination and the identification of physical contaminants using microscopy.
The Crisis Management Service is designed to put you in touch with the appropriate analytical/scientific staff that can identify the appropriate analytical services (which are not provided within Membership, but charged on the basis of work conducted), helping to pinpoint causes of problems and arrange for your samples to be delivered.
Leatherhead Food Research can also carry out audits of customer premises - a service available to all customers globally - to make sure that the problems do not arise again.
