Leatherhead Food Research maintains UKAS accreditation for 2019

Leatherhead Food Research, a Science Group company, has maintained its UKAS accreditation as audited against ISO 17025:2017 (general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories). Leatherhead operates as a UKAS accredited testing laboratory (no. 9365).

As a provider of science, technology and consultancy services to global food and beverage brands, the continued achievements further underline Leatherhead’s consistently high standards.

In 2016, following a two-year application process, Leatherhead was the first facility to offer UKAS accredited generation and verification of cooking instructions across comprehensive equipment (gas and electric thermal oven, electric fan oven, gas and electric hob, gas and electric grill and deep fat fryer techniques). Subsequently, in 2018, Leatherhead was granted accreditation for microwave oven cooking techniques and became the first and only accredited provider of food safety challenge testing.

“Leatherhead continues to set the benchmark for cooking instructions and food safety services in terms of both quality and customer service. The UKAS accreditation demonstrates integrity and traceability to the quality of test results which Leatherhead produces for its clients,” said Mark Butcher, Commercial Director. “We continue to work closely with UKAS to add more tests to their recognised programme and lead the scientific thinking in these sectors.”

Leatherhead’s cooking instruction service is the only independent UKAS accredited testing offering 24 and 48 hour turnaround of results with outstanding customer service. The highly experienced team will discuss your requirements, recommend and guide you to the most appropriate test which will meet specific retailer protocols. You will be provided with a report including the final instructions for your back of pack.
