Policies for water re-use in food and agriculture

Sustainable water management is central to future food security, and water re-use plays an important role. 

However, while agriculture and food production are heavy users of water, there are challenges surrounding its re-use in these industries. These include consumer acceptability as well as a lack of governmental awareness and regulatory definitions. 

Whilst things are starting to change, the food & beverage industry world-wide needs to instigate both local and national programmes to drive momentum towards harmonised regulations.
